Do rules move to virtual tables

They will only be refreshed in the UI if you issue a refresh() on the section or field.

I see where I went wrong - I was typing the example into the console, but you cant have continuation lines there - must all be on one line.

So now it is working - I can see it works by navigating thru the records.
Now I want to issue a refresh() on the section or field. To do that, I put a button on the canvas with a click of:

Lianja.getElementByID("section1").refresh()

That presumably is incorrect, because it doesn't refresh the calculated field?

If there is documentation for getElementByID, could you give me the link.

Try referencing the action control name rather than the section.

OK thanks. I haven't been able to figure out yet if it does the CALCULATED only when you save, or immediately you change one of the fields.
I will do some more tests later.
