HOW to deploy a new app.

Hi, I create a new app, use the import feature to import data from VFP tables.
I created some pages and section to see how the data is retrieved.
But now I want to test the deployment process.
I check DEPLOY menu bar , but there is no "GO", "DEPLOY" or anything thta tell me that is copying files, sources or binary files ...

Assume that I work on a development workstation, and I want to deploy to a server workstation so user can use Windows Desktop application.

    Any tutorial I'm missing ??

    Best regards.

Hi Nico, you will have to wait for the runtime deployment. Its stated in the roadmap as part of the final release.

As stated on the roadmap final release "Includes Lianja redistributable runtime client for Desktop App deployment."

    Hi, thank for your answer.
I found a button on the right upper corner. And because I choose "copy" method, and add a folder in path.... something was copied.
so I found files and folders in the destination path.

How to see that app un Lianja App Center ??

Remember that I'm trying to use Windows Desktop app.

Hi Nico, you have to wait for the final release which allows you to run the Lianja App Center against a remote server rather than apps and data on the local drive.

There will be a separate download for the Lianja desktop runtime client which you install on the end user desktops.

This is the usage scenario for desktop deployment.

Team and Cloud are different but the above explains desktop / LAN deployment.

You will of course be able to install the Lianja Runtime Client on a shared drive and all the users need to do is have a shortcut in their desktop...

Is this almost ready as I am eager to deploy some apps I have already built in Lianja.

Until now, I havenīt found any documentation about the deployment of a LIANJA application. I have to deploy a desktop application to 5000 users aproximately located all over the country. How is the deployment process under this scenario? With VFP 9.0 I only have to make an installer package (msi), publish it on on the web, tell the users the link where they can download it and, once it's done, they only have to dobleclick the package and proceed with the instalation. How is the deployment process with a LIANJA Application?

    Hello Wilson,

Lianja includes the NSIS installer in version 1.0 and in the upcoming 1.1 release we have greatly simplified its use by tying it in to the Lianja Deploy Workspace. Please see the following thread for more details:

    http://www.lianja.com/community/show...allers-in-v1-1

Ultimately once you have created/customized the installer the end user experience will be no different than what they are currently used to.

    Hi Wilson,

As Dave has explained, in v1.1 (which is due to be released sometime next week) it is simple to build and installer that you can distribute to your customers/users.

This is one of the improvements in v1.1. A full list can be found on the roadmap.
